What is Kung Fu?
Kung Fu (chin. 功夫, Gōngfū) is an umbrella term for chinese martial arts. In chinese the translation for kung fu is somthing similar to: "to reach something with hard work". In China they use the term Kung Fu not only for martial arts, also for other classes. For example a good cook or a good taxi driver. The chinese mainly use the term Wushu (chin. 武术, wǔshù), if they mean Kung Fu related to martial arts. Literally translated it means fight (Wu) arts (Shu) .
Many people know Kung Fu because of movies with actors like Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, etc. and from shows of Shaolin monks.
Kung Fu Styles
The styles are divided into 2 parts. Inner- and outer styles . The most famous inner styles is Taiji Quan. Other known inner styles are Xingyi or Bagua for example. The most famous outer styles are Longfirst (Changquan), Southfist (Nanquan) und animal styles.
We are teaching different styles of traditional and modern Kung Fu. With weapons and without weapons for championships and self defense. The basic training is for every disciple the same. Later on a lot of different styles are selectable. (Weaponforms, animalstyles, Shaolin Kung Fu, Bagua, and a lot more)
Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Quan)
Taiji Quan (sometimes written as Tai Chi Quan) is based on chinese philosophy, culture and martial arts. With the practise of Taiji it is taught to increase the health by the balance of Yin and Yang and to create the harmony between static and dynamic, inner and outer of mind and body. The focues of this is course is to learn and repeat the 24-beijing form. It's the most famous Taiji Quan form, based on the traditional Yang style.
The form begins with easy movements and continues with an slowly increasing degree of difficulty. The difference between the 24-bejing form and other Yang style Taiji forms is that it's compact without the numerous repeat of the same movement without shrinking it. So the specific Taiji techniques still contain in the 24-beijing form without a change in the core.
This course is for Taiji beginners as well for those who wants to refresh their Taiji skills. Also for people who have sportive interrests.
Sanda (fullcontact fight)
Sanda: Sanda means free fight. Sometimes the term Sanshou (chinesisch: Freihand) is used. The rules are based on traditional chinese martial arts, so various types of beats, kicks and throwings are allowed.
The competition is held on a plattform in 2 rounds. 1 round lasts 2 minutes. In order to have a fair and secure match there is protective equipment available for the competitors.
